Off to buy a furby vRS tomorrow!

Featured Replies

Morning all!

Right, i'm off to the dealer tomorrow morning with 500 squids in my back pocket for a deposit on a fabia vRS. Just a couple of questions before i do.

Does the car come with the vRS carpet mats as standard or are these a delaer option? Do the dealers usually throw these in free as a sweetner?

Whats the best price anyone has managed to negotiate from a dealer, have you got them to match online broker prices or come close? i.e a grand off list price.

Thanks in advance!

Steve.

Hi Steve.

I believe the mats are standard with the vrs. I didnt have to specify them or anything.

A few people on here have been successfull with getting the dealers to match the online prices. Definitely ask.

If your getting it on skoda finance then double check everything. Dealers have been known to quote AER when asked for APR. Mine did. Quoted 4% turned out it was 8.4% this was over 3% higher then the personal loan I could have gotten at the same time.

The Mats are standard. They will only fit front mud flaps. They will probably knock off around £300. Get as many options as you can afford. Xenons are well worth the extra. Oh It has to be black too!! Good luck

Xenons are well worth the extra.

Opinion still seems to be divided on that. ;) I couldn't tell any real difference between the Xenons and my uprated halogen bulbs in the car so I'd personally save 450 quid and plump with the cheaper option ;) Heated seats are well worth buying though :D

Firstly yes you get the mats so don't fall for the "I'll throw in the mats" trick as you get them anyway!.

As for getting the best price it all depends on what you want and I am assuming you are buying new. If you want a bespoke car with all the extras you are looking for and therefore has to be factory ordered then you'll be lucky to get more than a token gesture of a discount, maybe

Thanks for all your advice guys! Really appreciated!

Makefish, Thanks a lot for the offer, thats very generous of you! I should be fine though. It is a new car i'm after. I know what price i can get the car through a broker so that gives me something to aim for, i guess the dealer may not match an online price but if they can get close to it then we'll be getting somewhere! The only options i really want are blackmgic paint, cd changer and passenger airbag deactivation switch so hopefuly they'll be a few available! If they cant do the deal i want then i'll have to walk away and consider my options.

I shall let you all know how i get on!

Thanks again!

Steve.

Good luck mate. As soon as you get the car wax it up as the black magic is a PITA to keep clean.

Good luck and hope it goes well. I know how worrying/exciting it is as we bought a new Furby last month (at the opposite end of the spectrum, but there you go) and despite all the "I deserve it" and "we need it" and "it's a good deal" I still went down there all sweaty and stomach churning. But now it's all done and paid for, there's that warm glow.......

Good luck, let us know what you think of your Furby!

If you can afford another £115 or so then Cruise is a great option.

If you can afford another

You WILL get cruise and CD free, and some money off if you hold out.
