Removing car emblems ??

Featured Replies

I was thinking of removing the small skoda and octavia emblems from my black vrs boot and just leaving the vrs logo.

Has any one did this and had any issue before i do it?

thanks

Yes I did it the other day. Easy to do. I got a piece of string and just flossed it under the badge cutting through the adhesive then I gently scraped the rest of the adhesive off with my finger nail and wiped clean with warm soapy water.

Loosen the badge glue with heat first - either a hairdryer or, as I do, pour on hot water.

Dental floss or fishing twine behind the badge to release it.

Glue remover to clean up.

Either remove all the badges or none at all. Looks really tacky with just the VRS badge IMO.

But, the front grill VRS badge has locating dimples in the grill bars which look poo if you remove it.

Would not remove the vrs ones just the ones that spell skoda and octavia. The girlfriend thinks im mad removing them has any one a picture of them off?

have no issue removing them was just making sure there was no dimples or the like behind them.

I just removed the Skoda and Octavia writing and NOT the vrs

Its personal taste isn't it, but I think Octavia and VRS look OK, the 'Skoda' lettering is a bit too much, as there is already a Skoda badge.

That doesn't look too bad to be fair but it'd look a lot 'cleaner' if you removed the VRS badge too.

I'm toying with the idea.

Yeap, thats what I'm doing to my 245 when it arrive although, in addition I've got black refurbed Gemini's & black wheel centre caps & will paint the wheel hubs as they look **** when they start to rust.

I'm in 2 minds about the brake calipers!!!!!

Take them all off except the Skoda emblem.   Mine had four: Skoda, Octavia, 4x4 and vRS - looked like one of those kids toys with magnetic letters on

@themanwithnoaim the vRS badge on the front grille bars has no dimples behind, it's the round emblem on the bonnet that has them. Seem to recall exchanging posts with you on the subject, sorry if I confused you!

The badge on the grille bars is bonded on though, so takes balls to break off, and may not come off cleanly. I glued mine back on after painting it.

After using about 5 miles of floss, I gave up on that idea and just warmed then with a head gun and pulled them off with my fingers!!
