Light Switch Indicator

Not meaning to go OT, but I believe in the MKIII Octavia the drivers side wing mirror no longer comes with the Blind spot wide angle portion

Are you sure it does not cover as much?
My Yeti does not have the wide angle line on the mirror like my Fabia did but it covers just as much angle if not a bit more.

I think we sussed in the end that the submarine lights (also known as 'cats eyes') are inop if you have the pano roof and light/rain sensor combination, due to the mirror being positioned right under the light.

As for the bizarre 'guess what the lights are doing' light warning symbols by the light switch, this is the only thing I dislike about the Yetis. TIBET I has the warning light on the instrument cluster, being pre-FL. TIBETs II & III lost that being FLs. No doubt it isn't a yeti only thing, I dare say it is VWG wide for some good reason we are not privy to...

Regarding the satnav going day/night mode - again on TIBET I's Columbus, this function was linked to the headlights. on TIBET II & III the Columbus appears to have its own light sensor. I permanently set the display to night mode which I actually quite like.

later pre fl's lost the light indicator as well, not there on my adventure!

Just-pre-FL '63 plate Elegance.   The sub lights only show up when it's already dark enough to have prompted manual headlight switch-on.  In the (unwise) absence of the dashboard icon, a quick look down at the light switch is the only alternative.
