Vibration

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have a vibration (rather than a wobble), which I can feel through the steering wheel, and gear stick of my Superb. It also appears to be making a droning noise, which sounds a little like an underground train, but obviously not as loud.

I definitely think the car should be much quiter, but it being my first Superb, I'm not sure.

My local garage checked the wheel bearing and said they were ok. The car has done 76,000 miles.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Regards

Kevin

@Banjokevin - All of which is eliminative I think. Have you checked the rear tyres (particularly if they have a blocky tread pattern) for saw-toothing? (like the name suggests; high end of blocks will be to the rear in normal direction of travel) If you have saw-toothing, try swapping the rear tyres side to side.

Have you checked for wheel bearing wear, because that can sound more like tyre wear than bearing wear on VAG cars?
