Fabia vRS brake noise

Featured Replies

Is it just me or does anyone elses vrs make a hhhrrrrrrrrrrrruuuuuuuuuuuuuuu noise when you brake whilst reversing. Its very annoying and very embarassing.

Does anyone know the cure.

Loads of people had it, there is a cure, I posted the part numbers ages ago... will have a look for it...

In the mean time, try driving along at a sensible speed and applying the handbrake for 10 seconds or so, this tends to deglaze the pads / discs and work as a temporary solution.

Cheers my man. I'll get my dealer on it immediately.

Mine makes a noise when ever I brake, Looks like the rear disks arent working at all but have have the dealers look at it several times.

1st time they said it looked like the material skoda used for the brakes was causing the noise. And also said that the brakes had a recall outstanding for a brake bracket.

It went in for a service and they did the brake brackets (whatever they are). But it still makes the same noise when I brake. The rear brake disks always look dull and unused. Like the rear brakes arnt working. And there is always a grinding noise, is this what you guys are getting or are the rear calipers just siezed? The hand brake doesnt work very well either.

Have tried stomping on the brake over and over and kicking in the ABS and driving for a bit with the handbrake on to try to clear it but doesnt help much.

Yes, my brakes make a disturbing noise when I apply them while reversing sometimes too. Not every time though; maybe it's a temperature thing?
