Has anyone ever experienced there Amundsen head unit freezing?

 

The past two days in the morning going to work the screen has been unresponsive and today all the buttons were also unresponsive. By the time I get to work leave it 2 mins and go back out to the car it is working fine.....

Cannot find any information on this though?!

 

Did you ever get to the bottom of this one? I have the same issue for the last week. I have 4 weeks warranty left!

I had the firmware updated by Skoda, but now its cold again I get a slightly different issue. It will select on screen buttons by itself now when cold.

 

I just reset the headunit by holding down the power button and it sorts it.

Thanks. I see both issues. Sometimes it goes into the setup menu by itself, or changes radio station by itself etc. Sometimes the touchscreen is unresponsive, sometimes the hard keys are also unresponsive (Radio, Phone, Nav etc). Sometimes I can still change channels using steering wheel controls and other times that freezes up too! They are going to attempt a software update next week so will see what effect that has. I never had this problem before they serviced the car two weeks ago. Maybe coincidence maybe not! I'll report back....

Ill have a look to see what firmware version mine is running later and post it up here.

My soft buttons (Amundsen/Octavia VRS) also freeze occasionally. Sometimes they unfreeze after everything has warmed up (de-humidified?).

 

I tried resetting the unit by holding down the power button and that seems to cure it. I will get the firmware upgrade at the next service.

A software update hasn't fixed the issue for me. A new screen is on order, so I'll get it swapped the first week in January.

Update: The touch screen and the unit in the glove box were replaced last week as per Skoda's recommendation. It's working properly again now. Thanks for the replies.
