Vrs tsi oil filter 2010

Featured Replies

My filter is at top of engine. It is a replacement from Skoda in 2013 as other screwed from timing chain tensioner.

Does anyone one know if it's entire canister replace or filter inside. Part number or make would be great as can't read it on the curve

seen the underneath filter but can't find an idiots guide to change this. Is it easy or will oil just leak every where please?

thanks for any help

Would of thought your filter is the same as mine, as my car is only a year older than yours. It's the entire canister you replace, no separate filter inside. Just bought a genuine one from TPS myself, ready for the next oil change. Part number on filter itself is--

06J 115 561 B.

assuming it's the same as my 1.8TSi    you unscrew the filter a couple of turns then wait and it should drain,   go carefully and you can hear/feel it start  then just drain the rest of the engine oil whilst it's doing it's thing

So it then drains into sump or out the bottom of the filter? Sorry I am a bit dense.

Most of the oil in the filter will drain back down to the sump, but you do get some spillage as you take it off so have some old rags handy.

Just make sure the oil doesn't drip out over the aux belt etc.  Just undo it with the filter tool, let it sit 30s to empty, then lift out as straight up as you can so any drips/leaks empty into the filter hole.  Give it a wipe, then smear a bit of oil on the rubber seal of the new one, fit and torque up to spec.

I find draining the engine of oil when warm to hot is best as it's thinner, and I like to leave the car draining for 30 mins to get as much of the old oil and crud out.

2013 1Z Octavia II, engines TSI 1.8 CDAA / 2.0 CCZA (EA888 second generation) etc. has entire filter to be replaced, PN 06J115403Q, PN printed on part 06J 115 561 B.

Just as info, 2013 5E Octavia III, with TSI 1.8 CJSA / 2.0 CHHA (EA888 third generation) has only filter element PN 06L115562 to be replaced ...
