dash cams

Featured Replies

Hi anyone have experience of using a dashcam?  How to wire them in, or costs if done by a dealer ? KK

Have been wondering about this myself, but wanted one that is not going to leave wires everywhere or look stupid on the windcreen.

I also hate stuff that gets in your eyeline on the screen.

I'm no techie and I've installed two; currently using a DDPAI M6 plus. Wires are hidden and tucked away quite easily, wired into the rear wiper fuse. Have a look at the many threads here!

yep a doddle - i think my scatty brained daughter could do it!

she helped me installing mine - making the coffee!

The hardest part of wiring the dash cam is getting the glove box down.. once you have and have access to the fuses, its a case of picking one that's ignition switched. You want one that wont drain your battery when the car is switched off. I had an auto electrician fit mine. We used the blind spot detection fuse. I don't have that on my car. We tested to make sure power drops off when ignition off etc. Also had to remove the a pillar to run the wire, my camera is a street guardian which uses a separate gps sensor. Very neat install - fit and forget.
