Hi, I've been lurking here getting lots of useful info for a year or so since getting my 1.8 TSI.

 

I came from 15 years ownership of a Toyota Celica which was a great car and never let me down but time for a change.

I have to say I love the Octavia and the power from the turbo. The Celica was good to drive but you did have to rev it hard, which isn't the case with the Octavia.

More than a bit concerned about the chain tensioner issue but taken no action yet as low mileage when bought (24k). Now 32K and a bit more worried....

Thinking of the VCDS check and / or the manual inspection of the tensioner before I splash the cash.
