AC question

Featured Replies

Hi

I have 2016 Fabia Estate with manual AC. When I turn the conttroller to windows setting it automaticaly turns the AC on and when I pres the AC button to turn it of the light turns of but the AC is still working. Is this normal or is my AC controller malfunctioning?

Thanks

Jerc

Mine does that as well . If you move it to face or foot it then goes off.

It's so the car will quickly demist the windscreen, as the A/C system dehumidifies the air. I quite often set it just a few degrees off the directly vertical position, so that it's still blowing at the windscreen but hasn't triggered the A/C system.

Yep, mine's exactly the same.

It's a bit annoying as even though I've switched the A/C off, it is in fact still on, as though the car is trying to tell me that it knows better than what I do!

As others above have suggested, if you want to (actually)  switch it off, just move the dial one click away from the demist position.
