FUSES - NON STANDARD MODELS

Featured Replies

OK. You guys can make life ridiculously difficult to both sign up and find exactly the right question / answer - so, in complete frustration, I am starting a (probably not) NEW TOPIC as follows:

I have a 2006 Octavia II Morzine 1.9TDi (105 BHP) 4x4 but modded by VW/Skoda for its original owner to Praha / L&K (?) standards with Xenons, Roof, Driver Electric & Heated  Seat, Get you Home, etc., etc.,. - AND -

A 2012 Yeti 2.0TDi (175 BHP) 4x4 Elegance with Driver Electric Seat

For both cars the Manual is utterly useless with respect to the Fuse Layout and the 'ADD ONS', none of which are reflected therein!

I have already had nightmarish exchanges, plus (should be unnecessary!) expensive Electronic Diagnostics, with my local dealer who knows no more than I about the fuse confiurations.

Currently the OCTAVIA DRIVER SEAT CONTROLS are suddenly on strike. Zero response.

I therefore need to start by checking its fuse(s).

But, in all events, I absolutely do need to be able to access confidently BOTH VEHICL:ES' Fuse Boxes.

Does ANYONE have, or know of, authoritative, definitive information and diagrams to help, PLEASE?!

The Octavia will be hard as it depends how the original owner has decided to add extra fuses. You may need to trace the wiring...

The Yeti should be easier.

As you're not happy with the owner manual, you could try the wiring diagram in the workshop/service manual. The official ones can be accessed here https://erwin.skoda-auto.cz/erwin/showHome.do for a small fee. You should then be able to trace exactly which function goes to each fuse.

I'd suggest you have a working 'print to pdf' or similar as it'll allow you to keep the wiring diagrams for future reference without needing to pay for another session.

Sounds like you need to find your way to erWin, and pay a small fee to download the current flow diagrams for Octy mk2 and Yeti.

The seat adjustment on the Octy should be powered through a 30 Amp fuse designated S44 "at additional relay holder below dash panel", if it's been done in the factory way.

Good morning and thanks a bunch LANGERS and WINO.

Did the erWin thing and downloaded all there. Going to investigate the 30 Amp Fuse which I believe to be in the Driver Compartment Panel - Designated D S44 (as opposed to E .... =  Engine Compartment?)

I shall check under seat connections, etc., too, of course, but am basically hopeful it is simply the fuse!

Have had other Electric / Electronic problems ever since installation and failure of a (new) dodgy battery over a year ago. A Works Diagnosis to identify any possible anomalous Battery Drain and a full Fuse Check were carried out. Ever since other devices have periodically failed - fuses and / or, in the case of the radio, a secondary fuse, NOT on either Panel - expensive even though it seemed clearly the fault of VW/Skoda!

Sorry I didn't reply earlier. Immediately after my post I was completely tied up for 3 days with family visit and stuiff.

Will report back.

Thanks again and all the best. Anthony STODART.

@STODART Search (ctrl-F) the document you have for the phrase "Additional relay holder below dash panel" and towards the very end you'll see a diagram of fuseholder 'D' tacked onto the top right of the relay holder. There are four positions for such additional fuses, labelled A, B, C, D.  'Fraid I don't know the exact location of this relay holder other than 'below dash panel'.
