Bolero/Columbus, has mic but no Bluetooth?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Got a radio question for you all.

I currently have a Bolero in my 2011 Octavia, I believe the car originally came with the Columbus and has been swapped at some point (v annoying). Whilst installing my parrot system the other day I noticed that I have a two wires going into the green plug on the back of the unit which I believe are a mic input?

Any ideas why I'd have a mic input and no Bluetooth? Is the Bluetooth unit usually under the passenger seat? I can't find one if so.

One day I will hopefully have the system back to what it should be.

Cheers.

Bluetooth kit is under the drivers seat, on the floor. Not the passengers seat.

Ahh I'll double check under there in a bit. Don't think I've seen anything there though. The cars build data doesn't show Bluetooth but the mic cable certainly looks like it's factory fit

If it had Voice Control then the mike would've been fitted. But I'm unsure what the build spec was on the vRS.

I can only guess that is what it was for, just looked under the drivers seat and there's nothing there, no sign of anything being there previously either.

I believe that the factory Bluetooth is located under the front passenger's seat (..at least I have seen this in a model previously)  in a special protective box/compartment.

If it had Columbus initially then as Rustynuts said the mic is for the voice control of that..

Don't know what happened and why you see 2 mics, can you really check up in the dashlight if you have 2 positions for mic?

What type of antenna does the car have, the sharkfin (FM/GPS) or the classic for FM?

Ahh I will double check under there too, I think it must have been for the voice control though. By two wires I mean a positive and negative, sorry for the confusion.

I have the sharkfin antenna on the roof. I really do want to get the car back to what It should have, just need to save enough spare cash to get a Columbus back in.

For Columbus radio-navi Rustynuts usually has units and supports very well..

Probably previous owner had removed the Columbus due to major issue or who knows....maybe sold it for a good bucks..

I think mic has 2 cables..

Might have had an Amundsen with built in BT previously? That would have needed the mic.
