Anybody ever have this problem the car just dies you can't even rev it l. The only way to start it is by keeping the key fully turned so it keeps the revs ?? 

Sounds like a major failure, maybe camshaft wear.

Would be nothing to do with fuel pump or injectors ??

Very unlikely since the unit injectors are compressed by the cam and are controlled electronically, maybe you have a massive air leak in the fuel line or filter housing.

When did this happen, how has the car run before, have you done any maintenance, recent refuel, does it turn over f.aster than usual on the starter.

I had injectors changed a couple on months ago unless one is faulty and the fuel isnt getting through. I literally turn the key and it starts then dies i can't even rev the accelerator. I have to turn the key the whole way and hold it there until it holds the rev the it drives fine doesn't die when driving only when starting up 

sounds like an air in the fuel system. Mine did this once and It took ages of cranking and trying to rev before it would run properly. It would fire up then die unless you held the accelerator down it would holds revvs at 1500 for a bit but no more. Turned out one of the fuel lines on the fuel filter wasn't secured with its clamp as it had been left off when last changed. 

dont know how similar that sounds to yours but I also had a cam sensor fault which probably wasnt helping starting during this issue.

Check the timing and the camshaft end bolts to make sure they are tight. Get it on VCDS and see what codes are displayed.

Right here is a video still haven't got it plugged in yet for codes.  starts fine when cold but when hot turns over the dies couple of seconds later

Lifter pump/ relay? 

 

Air leak / fuel filter?

Fuel temperature sensor or ECT sensor are worth trying. Get it plugged in, do it today.

Having the exact same issue with mine after getting it back together, have a fault code for the fuel pump relay so hopefully swapping that out will fix it
