SMS Notification

Featured Replies

In my previous car, an incoming SMS was notified with a beep and an envelope on the COMAND (satnav) screen. Incoming texts were also logged on the phone as well as the car.

In my Superb, I don't get an audible notification or symbol anywhere on Columbus or on the car's dials and the message doesn't appear on my phone either.

Unless I spot reference to SMS in the central display I've no idea someone has tried to reach me.

  • Is there a notification setting I've not found yet?

  • Why doesn't the text appear on my Android phone if the text is received when I'm in the car - which is paired to the phone?

Thanks.

I suspect you had connected with rsap on the previous car have now used the hands free protocol/

despite that, if you can use voice commands on your phone then you can use voice commands via Columbus to your phone.

This means you get an audible prompt that you have a text message, the message can be read out and you can reply to it, again via text.

look for an app on your phone that performs like Cortana on windows 10 (sorry to use that vulgar w10 phrase) :D
