I'm having an issue with loud rumbling noise from rear wheels when accelerating in 6th gear.

 

When on a run after getting to destination also bad brake smell and rear wheels hot to the touch.

 

Any ideas.....

My estate can get hot and smell (burning smell) but it has done it for a few years, no catastrophe, no rumbling though I have the music up so possibly wouldn't notice

I had sticking rear and then sticking front it turned out to be calipers...just needed stripping and 're greasing if you have a decent mechanic willing rather then replacing with a new part .
