SKODA EMISSIONS SCANDAL

Featured Replies

I tried to enter my wife's Fabia Monte Carlo Estate 1.6 Tdi on the Skoda Emissions Scandal

as shown on Briskoda.  Strangely no Fabia of any type is listed!!

Her car first registered May 2014 has performed without any problems whatsoever, totally reliable.

Recently Skoda UK have advised me that EA 189 NOx emissions service action can be applied

to her vehicle.

Given the car is now out of its 3 year warranty I wonder if Skoda will extend the warranty on

any parts that could be effected by service action taken to rectify the EA 189 NOx emission?

Has anybody else considered this?

I will be taking this up with my Skoda dealer.

?

Why would you want to go to the bother of taking the car in or having them come to you to do it, then the risk to a car running perfectly well going wrong and having to use some Warranty with various T&C's that might have them not replacing parts that prematurely expire?

Funnily Skoda Fabia keepers with 1.6 & 1.2 TDI that are affected have had their letters, just do a search there are posts on here as you have,

so the VIN checker was obviously as gash as the Defeat Device Removal is proving,.

& there is a sort of extended warranty for 2 years after having 'the fix', and this is discussed in various threads and posts in various sections of Briskoda.

Maybe best ask Skoda UK or VW Group about it in writing and get the answer in writing.

will probably detune your car through the ecu and take 10-15 bhp off it

Although not a diesel owner myself, many are saying that the 'fix' causes problems.  If it were me, I would not have it done particularly as the car has proved reliable up to now.

I've had no problems what so ever (touch wood) since Skoda did the 'Fix' on my Greenie after it's 4 year MOT... It actually feels a little perkier (or it might just be me) :)
