Urgent - Help Needed to get our S2N Rapid Running

Featured Replies

Despite much help from several members and a replacement engine - our Staples 2 Naples 136 Rapid still refuses to go. Basically we have exhausted most things now - the car needs to be assessed by a garage

In exchange for free publicity and a few pennies (literally as the cash we've spend could have bought a decent Felicia for the trip:eek: ), does anyone know of a garage (Skoda or Ex Skoda Agent) who could assess the car and advise. Ideally located within 1 hour of Cambridge - Northants, Beds, Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambs, South Lincs etc...

If you are in the trade or know of someone who can help, please can you get in touch via PM.

Well The S2N car is nearly going but it appears to be a starter problem as it wont engage correctly to spin the engine.

When it does engage it almost starts but not quite. I think a little more fiddle time before I give up

JMK2, you have a PM

Can't offer any practical hands on, but check the earth strap on both the engine and the gearbox.

The gearbox one is what earths the starter,

They are prone to failing on older ones.

Is the engine an original rapid 136 one? or is it a felicia \ favorit one? I think there is a difference between the flywheels or ring gear between the cars. If the wrong ring gear \ starter combo is used you would have problems with the starter meshing with the ring gear.

Or am I misunderstanding you and you have a electrical problem not mechanical?

 PM sent from me too
