Bought the car 6 months ago through Arnold Clarke at 45k and current mileage is 68k.

13,000miles in 6months....no chance of warranty  & no chance of proving the fault was there before you bought the car..

The sale of goods act & amendments provides you with a nice 6months to give the dealership time to fix faults...after that period & if the car then develops a fault you have problems proving the car was faulty before you bought it...

& EU laws can mean that Car Manufacturers that know they built products or a company they owned built something like Gearboxes are not just able to wash their hands after 3 years when there are Fundamental Design, Manufacturing, Materials / Component Failings just because the Company or the Importers say they can.

World Wide Recall / Service Campaign before Updates in 2013 & then further Service Campaigns started 3 years later,

and failing products.

Vorsprung Durch Technic,  See you in Court,

that is if VW dares to defend themselves in a court in Europe / England-Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland.

Recently a member said they started an action and VW said there was no case against them as they never manufactured the gearboxes.

Well they or their companies source components and build vehicles and then sell them.

Contact your local Trading Standards to get legal advice and find out what rights you may have.

Gaz

To do that you now need to contact the CAB (Citizens Advice Bureau) and then you might or might not get Trading Standards advice, or you get it from where they direct you to the on-line advice.

UK Government don't want citizens ripped off by the big  golden goose corporations having easy access to some sort of assistance paid for by UK citizens.
