Bi Xenon Lights

Featured Replies

I have a 2013 pre face lift Elegance 170 with xenon lights Now I know the dipped beam is xenon however this evening while looking at main beam it appeared that these were halogen (yellow light) now I am sure that the Elegance had dipped and main beam xenon. Has anyone experienced this?

Thank you in advance

Bi-xenon systems use a single HID capsule along with a movable shutter to adjust the beam pattern between dipped and high beam. The Superb has an additional halogen bulb to act as a backup for the high beam. This also functions for the headlight flash.

You definitely have bi-xenons though, its just the yellow beam pattern coming through over the xenon can be a little odd looking alright at night time.  Some have upgraded that backup halogen bulb to a stronger HID-type bulb but I always thought it was more hassle than it was worth and probably doesn't add a whole lot extra light.

I've been meaning to upgrade the halogen bulbs in our car (2010 Elegance). Below is what they currently look like. I have heard the Osram Nightbreakers will be more blue/white so should match better to the Bi-Xenons.

I just stuck with the best halogen bulbs I could for the main beam. I think they're H1 iirc. It works really well imo and better than the single bi-xenon setup in FILs Mazda 3 MPS mk2.

It fills the void between the bi-xenon nicely.
