OBD11 what can it do ?

Featured Replies

Guys as a low cost option (relative to VCDS) I am interested if this tool can do what I would like done.

I have a MY17 Superb 3 and was interested in these settings:

Enabling refuel quantity in the maxidot
Enabling fan (blower) speed display in AUTO mode
Enabling Traffic Sign Recognition
Audi throttle pedal

Whiskers on DRL

DRL off when light switch off (on with switch at auto)

As we have a VCDS section, do we have one for OBD11 ?

Obd11 does the same as vcds. As vcds has been around longer and is more well known, the section is named after that although as far as I can tell they are more or less interchangable.

If you want low cost, why not check the vcds map to see if someone will do it for you in exchange for some beer tokens

With regards to what you want done:

Enabling refuel quantity in the maxidot

yes
Enabling fan (blower) speed display in AUTO mode

Yes
Enabling Traffic Sign Recognition

If you have the A5 camera (I don't know your spec)
Audi throttle pedal

Yes

Whiskers on DRL

No (they are different light unit)

DRL off when light switch off (on with switch at auto)

Not sure.

If all those can be done with OBD11 I would be happy to buy it if I had a guide to do them :)

Some debate about the camera, I don't have lane assist but do have light assist with auto high beam. A triangular shaped area in the blackout on the screen.

I believe my lights are the right ones, they have led DRL and the whisker strips ?

I know I had the DRL off done on my Octy 3 vRS.

If you have the triangle then yes, tsr can be done.

All superbs have whisker strips but I believe they are duds unless you have the smart light assist fitted to the car and they are replaced with working ones.

I think the s3 vcds thread has it all.

So instructions to change coding is the same on obd11 as vcds  ?

Edit, just checked codes, I don't have smart light assist, just regular, so no eyelashes !

I would guess so, but I'd either ask someone with obd11 or check the instructions on their website to be certain on what you have to do.

I thought OBD2 is just for reading fault codes and clearing them ? Whereas VCDS is eqiv to dealer changing options writing to the ECU and so it's better as per VAG group cars. Cheers Stuart

I think they are actually discussing OBDeleven rather than OBD2.

Assuming that's correct, OBDeleven can certainly perform some coding on some VAG cars :)

Yes it's obdeleven vs vagcom/vcds.

Obd2 is the standard plug and protocols for engine management reading. The dealer vas system, Vcds and obdeleven use the obd2 plug to communicate with the cars computers.

Can OBDeleven read VAG specific codes and measuring blocks?

The website seems to imply it can read codes and live data, but are they referring to VAG specific or generic? It claims it can even do basic settings, so I would assume it can do other VAG stuff. I'm just looking for confirmation.

Am i right in thinking that to enable the Audi Throttle Pedal with OBDeleven i need to change this....
