I've been using Android Auto since getting our 03FL, it works brilliantly with Google Maps etc. (oh, for a laugh get someone to send a message full of emojis on WhatsApp etc, well made me laugh anyways!) The thing is is takes ages, a good 45 seconds, for SmartLink to burst into life. Just me, or are all units the same?

Doesn't take that long on mine ... Probably 5-10 seconds for the phone to be picked up properly, then I can pretty much instantly switch onto android auto.

 

Might be worth completely uninstalling android auto from your phone and reinstalling it.

Nope, still no better. My phone is getting on a bit now, I'll try it on my wife's newer one.
