Mirror dipping not working

Featured Replies

I've tried the mirror dip on my 2014 Octavia VRS but it didn't work (I have the switch in L position when reversing), should it work on this model?

This will work inly if your car is Mk3 MQB platform

Enabling passenger mirror dip on selecting reverse

Tested on Elegance, vRS & SE

Controller 52 - Passenger Door

07 - Coding

Byte 4

Enable Bit 2

Enable Bit 3

Controller 09 - Central Electronics

16 - Security Access - enter 31347

10 - Adaptation

(15)-Access control 2-Spiegelabsenkung bei Rueckwaertsfahrt - change to active

This setting enables a menu item in Infotainment

(20)-Access control 2-Menuesteuerung Spiegelabsenkung - change to active

Remember, the mirror switch needs to have the passenger mirror selected for this to work, and the mirror only dips a fixed amount if you don't have memory seats

Yeah that's what I did, but the mirrors do not dip on reverse

Got an autoscan?

You also need to tick the option box in the menu setup on the screen, under lights/mirrors or similar.

It showed as a dropdown menu, I set it to strong.

My mistake, there are 2 options to set, it's now working.

It's pretty poor though, only dips a tiny bit

turn the car ignition on, but don't start the engine.

put mirror switch into L position.

put car into reverse, set mirror position to dipped position.

take car out of reverse and turn off ignition.

I think that's the process to set the dipped position.

This only works if you have Eletric memory seats. You can get the Mirror to dip by putting the switch to " L " whilst reversing. The mirror only dips about 5 to 10 % and doesn't always go back it the correct position when going forward

Yeah that's the problem I have, so it's now switched off.
