Dashboard touch up paint

Featured Replies

I have a 2013 Yeti (pre-FL). It's white and the dashboard finish looks like a metallic silver.

Last year while carrying some long planks of wood the silver paint got chipped and I wondered if anyone knows what touch-up paint might work. It's only a tiny chip but it's quite noticeable unfortunately.

Thanks

You are not going to get a perfect repair on that unless you pay for a professional.

With that in mind get the smallest tin of silver Humbrol enamel you can. [14ml I think]

Using a pin put a dot of paint onto a piece of plastic [food tray], leave to dry and check for colour match.

I have used the Humbrol on alloy wheels before and they do camouflage the damage.

You can replace these reasonably easily and even go for colours not available to uk buyers. I think Superskoda stock them?

Many thanks for your replies. I might try the Humbrol first but I had no idea it would be so easy to change the panel.

I'm wanting to trade the car in so the fewer blemishes the better.

With the Humbrol paint, I would suggest that you buy the enamel paint.   It's harder wearing than the acrylic, but it takes longer to dry.   As it's mainly used for airfix kits, there are a few different silvers so possibly take the trim piece with you to try to match it as good as possible.
