Featured Replies

Hi

Has something like that happend to any of you guys? I have a cracked window seal on my back door. My Skoda dealer is going to repair it under warranty.

The same thing happened to me on the driver's door. I think it's because the electric window pushes too hard up into the rubber. I didn't spoke with my dealer yet to see if i can repair it on warranty, hopefully i can. I noticed it because at high speeds it makes some noise, a whistle and it bothers me. Please tell me how you repair yours so i can tell it to my dealer too.

@Jerc Can I ask how easy it was for dealer to change the window seal? Did they make any damage to the other parts of the door changing it?

Mine has a tear in the divers side so I;m looking to change it, but not if it's hassle.

The same thing happened to me. It will be replaced under warranty but as I live in Chile the part had to be imported and I am awaiting for it:dull:

That just looks like a very poor/bad bit of design there and that seal profile strip is just being cut, bent and welded - and that welding process is not fit for purpose, you get a lot of that in VW group cars, well at least in SEATs and as shown here in Skodas, cheap cheap!

If Skoda is serious about selling cars into South America they should be supporting their network of dealers, in UK all VW Group brands get parts, if available, for the next day is the vehicle is off the road, or the day afterwards if vehicle is not off the road - ie not in workshop. You should be expecting non stocked parts to get delivered within a week!

I had my passenger side window trim/seal replaced due to the seal splitting on the weld as per the picture on Original post.

Dealer replaced it but unfortunately broke a door trim clip and grab handle clip whilst doing so.

They was kind enough to leave the broken bits in the door pocket and a rattling speaker to suit.

Needless to say they did repair it to my satisfaction when I went back for a service.

The seal has been fine since.

I think it all depends on the technician that is given the job on the day.:wondering:
