Multi function steering wheel controls fault

Featured Replies

This is on a MK3 Elegance 1.6 tdi.

Fault where at times all buttons are dead and will not control Media or Maxidot, horn still works.

This was the case this morning but after about five miles all buttons started working again.

I had similar fault on my superb, I suspect a known fault. It was quickly repaired

Have not had all buttons dead but have had dead RH scroll wheel

Have made an appointment to get it checked and hopefully fixed under warranty.

Like yours it is an intermittent fault so no immediate way of being certain that any fix has worked also of course can't guarantee that fault will show itself on the day. Done 500 plus miles in last couple of days , fault was only apparent for a couple of minutes. At least I've got the video though.

Yeah we've had this loads and without a video they refuse to fix it.

Worth persevering though.

Hopefully you'll manage to get some video evidence soon.

Got some video evidence, booked it in a month ago for collection today.  Guess what?  Dealer messed up and didn't book it as collection, next slot another month away. Time to switch dealers we've had an issue every single time its been in with these idiots.

Time to name and shame them... not Sparshatts is it?

No not them, don't seem to have much luck round here, we only went to them as the only other dealer round here messed us around when we were buying with test drives so we though hmmm better avoid this lot and use the others :D cant win!

Logged a complaint with Skoda UK as that's now 3 strikes, expecting a call from the dealer principle so we'll see how they resolve it first! And I thought VW dealers were bad lol!

When I lived in Hampshire we gave up with the Skoda and Audi dealers and always used an indi in Totton once our cars were out of warranty - much better service, you actually spoke to one of the owners, both of whom actually got their hands dirty in the workshop.
