Saying is you are getting old when Policemen look young, but surely when teenage children look young you are really old.

What age do you get a licence in his state?, and does he have a driving licence?

God was I like that at 17? Mini Cooper ........ Stabilized at 18 and bought my VW Beetle..... apprenticeship money was the constraint I recall !

Perhaps you forget what you were like when you were 17 and enthusiastic about cars. Whether you used the bank of mum&dad or  felt proud of doing it yourself.

I know what i was like at 17, and thinking back back i wouldnt let me in control of a shopping trolley never mind an R on the open road

Alistair is quite an interesting young man, if you listen to his page 1 here, maybe the affects of his dad being a bit of a patrol head /racer, but whom Alistair  lost, at a young age, has Kindled his 17 year old hyper enthusiasm for hot cars. 

He seems to know his stuff as well, he has done his research on parts and mentions that he has spoken to tuners, no just some young kid with more money than sense.

Old Fart envy ? "I wish I was 17 again". Well sometimes.

Forget the age and drink in the petrol head enthusiasm,( yes he may be a brash young spoilt American) , - you were there once I'm sure, as an apprentice engineer.

 

I certain was and don't mind admitting it  .

I think what is different was that we were served in pubs at 15 year old. Head shaved...

Facial hair  @ 16.

Driving from 12-13 on roads even.

I didn't look much different to that chap at 17. But I would have wrapped a Golf R round a tree within about 15 minutes.
