PCP settlement charges ?

Featured Replies

Has anyone handed their old PCP car back & got a new one on another PCP ?

Mine has been handed back over a month now & so far, nothing, no contact, no invoice not even a letter. I was 1,600 miles over contract & whilst not bits hanging off, its condition was fair at best.

Don't really wanna prompt them into remembering, I'm kinda tempted to let sleeping dogs lie.

Let sleeping dogs lie.

I wouldn't expect it to affect you getting another PCP deal. I wouldn't hold your breathe though on the bill for the excess mileage and condition from the previous car not catching up with you.  If you've not moved address since you took it out and forgot to notify them, then don't go chasing it up.

Why did you hand back, out of interest?  They giving you less than the balloon/outstanding balance?

When I placed my order back in April, I asked my dealer how strict Skoda were being with charges (I was exploring all avenues of getting rid of my pre-fl at the time). He’d said they were now being quite strict due to the increase of people handing back. With that said, I wouldn’t be chasing it up but also wouldn’t be relaxing about it just yet either.

Just leave it - when I handed mine back (albeit on lease, but was still VWFS) I got my invoice for excess mileage within the week.

Think you may have struck lucky!

Oh I would phone daily and email daily, even text. Leave messages on their FB and Twitter accounts all demanding that they let me pay even more money.

Alternatively I might just think 'ugger it and do nothing.

I'm gonna do a DVLA check

In April when the current road tax runs out !!!!

Only experience of this recently is a bloke in my car school handing back his citroen at the end of his PCP. They contacted him the next day to say he would be getting a bill for £250 for a scratch on the passenger side door.

The scratch wasnt even bad either, he had taken the day off to buff it out but they came a day early and the mrs let them take it. He wasnt very happy to be honest!

Well I don't need to do the DVLA check now as, they've just written to tell me I am no longer the registered keeper.

I take it this means a motor trader has registered it as with them ?

Anyway I shall not be demanding my invoice from VWFS
