Hello, so i bought superb 2012 greenline combi with 77kw 1.6 CR engine. 
I read my service book and saw that engine oil must be vw 507 type/specification and "googled" my current freshly replaced engine oil which is Mobil 3000 XE 5w30 and found that oil is 502 00/505 00/505 01 specification.

 

I changed my oil today and now i am worried if it is harmful to my car ? Should i replace it with vw 507 oil ? Which is the best oil for this engine ?

What VW recommends is Castrol EDGE 5W-30 LL. I use it with my 1.6 because it was massively discounted when I was doing an oil change.

 

Anything that's approved to VW 507.00 and is 5W-30 LL is what you want.

The 1.6 on the Superb has a DPF from factory, so you need to change to the low SAPS (or also known as low ash) 507 oil. Otherwise your DPF will wear out faster than it's meant to. It definitely doesn't need any help wearing out.

 

Quantum Longlife 3 5W-30 seems to be what members here can easily find for an affordable price, so you could try eBay.

Yep, as above VW507.00 is the minimum requirement for all DPF equipped diesel engines.

 

It is low ash to reduce the loads on the DPF.

 

Who changed the oil, you or a garage?

 

If it was a garage take it back and tell them they've used the wrong oil.
