Hi everyone could someone tell me if my a pillar is meant to get water in it and drain out through a drainage hole.This leak is going to be the deaf of me.

You shouldn't be getting water down the inside of the panels, there must be a leak from either the scuttle panel where the pollen filter is, or the base of the windscreen. Get a watering can and add some food colouring (UV dye is better - same as they use for coolant system leaks) and pour it over the front of the car, starting at the bottom of the windscreen/scuttle area. Odds are there is a drain blocked allowing it to run in through the pollen filter housing

Hi mate I've been doing water tests I thought I located it between the door and the a pillar,just  under the wing there is a join metal on metal I used a watering can on it and the water started to come through into the pillar.I started the water tests at the lowest points first in between the door when it's opened along the outside of the a pillar.When I got close to the top on the metal on metal part it's just under the wing it started to come through.Iput silcone on this joint and it hasnt made a difference ,the only drainage holes ive come across are under the wheel arch lineing.Do u know of any other drainage holes I could check'ive spent hours looking for this leak.It first started last year i looked and prodded around and it went away but now its come back.So maybe it is a drainage hole.

I just to get it sorted don't want to take it to Skoda it will cost a fortune.

Please help.

On the picture i poured water above the door hinge but past it just under the wing and water drips it.

I've just poured some water down the middle of the windscreen and it's leaked into the a pillar.

I think when I done the water test on the screen last time I was parked on a kerb and it drained the other way.

Stupid me.

I did try and check the scuttle but I couldn't get one of the wiper arms of,does anyone know how i will get it of.

Thought the pollen filter was under the gloves box

I cannot offer any advice, but recall seeing the attached TPI in erwin. Hope it is of some use

Is it easy to take the wing of an mk2 Octavia and the wheel housing going attempt it tomo.
