Carplay/Bluetooth Question

Featured Replies

Please forgive my ignorance.

I am about to take delivery of my new Skoda Superb Estate.

I have a question about carplay.

If I am connected to carplay, am i able to/do i need to connect my phone via bluetooth to make & receive calls using the car interface, not carplay?

Is it a case of one or the other, or will trying to connect to bluetooth whilst connected to carplay muck things up?

I am think that if connected to carplay, then the steering wheel control of making & receiving claas wont work.

Is that a correct assumption?

Thanks

K

When you connect to Carplay via USB, bluetooth is disabled automatically and everything has to be done via Carplay. The downside of this is that whilst the steering wheel controls most things, you can't use it to make phone calls like you can with Bluetooth, instead you have to use the screen (or Siri).
