Hi guys,

I have been having a nosey around this forum, which might I say is far better than the vw,seat Or Saab ones I've used before, and I see there are ways to enable some features that have not been spec'd by the original purchaser.

I have a 16 plate Octavia VRS tdi manual and would love to add some more features. Adaptive high beam, cornering fogs, footwell lighting, road sign recognition etc.

From what I can make out this is done via VCDS? what is this? I'm not electrically minded so if there is someone in the Nottingham area that could help that wpuld be great. Is it just a case of plug in and adjust or is there hardware to be changed?

Thanks in advance

Sorry,

Just found another thread with pretty much the same question.

Is the anyone in the Nottingham/Derby area that could help out with adding the following?

HBA

Cornering Fogs

Both rear fog lights

Traffic Sign Recognition if you have Columbus

Passenger Mirror Dip on Reverse

Rear Teardrop Wipe

Thanks

You'll need the loom and some footwell light units + coding if you want to retrofit that. It's a few hours work as it requires a fair amount of trim removal from both the drivers and passengers sides.

There's a decent thread on it somewhere if you do a search, which has all the info and guide to fit.

Number plate LEDs is also another good one, might be worth getting that coded if someone is doing your coding.

I think I'll leave the footwell lights then. I deffo want the hba and road sign recognition. They will be good to have.

Can the mirrorlink be activated aswell do you know?

Think you'll need to visit a dealer and hand over £150 for Mirror link activation. Not something that can be done with VCDS or similar as far as I'm aware.
