Upgrade steering rack of pre fl Octavia

Featured Replies

Hi,

My present rack is showing torque sensor implausible fault code, so I am planning to change steering rack of my pre fl octavia to steering rack of fl octavia.

My current rack part no.: 1K2 909 144M

New rack part no.: 1K0 909 144M

Would like to know:

1. Is it do able?

2. Apart from rack do i need anything else?

3. Any precautionary measures?

The new rack will fit in the same way so do able, i think there might be some setting up to do with VCDS; but to me there is no difference between the pre fl and the fl.

Both veriants that i have had ( an 07 tdi pd elegance and my current 2010 1.8 tsi L&K) the steering felt/feels indentical in weight, same amount of turns lock to lock and the same rubber band feel that electric power steering gives.
