Speaker improvements

Featured Replies

Someone on VWVortex mentioned removing / cutting the plastic cover behind the speaker so that the speaker magner didn't touch it. anyone done this? is this wise? won't it make the speaker wet & ruin it completely :?:

Indeed there was a post on Vortex.

We have also created a FAQ section where you can ask popular questions.

The speaker enhancement question is to be found here : Speaker FAQ

We'll be monitoring posts and any good questions and answers not in the FAQ will be added, unless you beat us to the question :D

I too have been very disappointed with the standard hi-fi system fitted to my 2002 4x4. It suffers from a marked lack of bass, a 'bright' (tinny) sound which ruins classical music, and distortion when played at higher volumes. How Skoda can put a better sounding radio/cassette player in my wife's Felicia beats me.

However...........having read the preceding posts, I decided to carry out the front door speaker and rear door tweeter mods described in the FAQs and...........the sound system now performs like it should do. What's more, I can enjoy a bit of volume when I'm out on my own!

What more can I say other than that if you haven't tried it, do it now.
