Ferry and alarm

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

I'm travelling across the Bay of Biscay in a couple of days - and Brittany Ferries require me to disable the alarm. (Presumably specifically the tilt sensors). Anyone know how to do this?

I've just spent the best part of 20 mins on the in-car help button - only to learn that my call "was important to them" -  prior to being disconnected. :-)

KODIAQ 2018

Thanks

Nope Kenny that's not it.

If you read the posts in the above link, it’s either by pushing the button on the b pillar, but apparently the newer Kodiaq do not have this physical button and it has to be deactivated in the infotainment menu, or push the remote lock button twice in succession.

But I do not want to deactivate the interior motion sensors - but the tilt sensors, like I said.

From page 66 of the owners manual.........( you can’t turn off tilt sensors separately)
 Read and observe     on page 67 first.
The interior monitor detects movements inside the locked vehicle and then
triggers the alarm.
The anti-towing detects tilts in the locked vehicle and then triggers the alarm.
These functions should be deactivated if there is a possibility that the alarm will be triggered by movements (e.g. by people or animals) within the vehicle interior or if the vehicle has to be transported (e.g. by train or ship) or towed.
Deactivate
The functions can be deactivated simultaneously in the Infotainment menu  /  →  → Opening and closing.
Safelock is switched off during deactivation.
