Limp mode when warms up

Featured Replies

Hello all my car is a skoda octavia vrs 2007 diesel and its fine until ive driven it for around 10 minutes then if I try to give it some beans it hesitates and then goes into limp mode.has been put on diagnostics and it said camshaft sensor but a mechanic at skoda said hes never changed one of them and hes been there decades and he thinks it the turbo veins ive looked into it and the actuator that you push on to free up is free but it is pretty hard to push or should this be easy to push??.its getting worse and has started just totally cutting out and sometimes it will start straight back up but other times the glow plug light flashes and it won't start for a minute or two.could it be fuel filter.im thinking of trying the mr muscle clean but trying to get a bit of insite first.thanks in advance. ...its driving me mad

No codes cissen brought the car cheap of my brother and he had it put on a diagnostics machine and was told camshaft sensor which ive bought but its £100 to get it fitted but the mechanic quesstioned it saying he's never changed one and he owns a vw/skoda dealer garage but I don't know if it was the vag diagnostic machine that diagnosed the camshaft sensor or not.it smokes a lot aswell when idling and you can tell by the sound of the engine that its not running right. its a beautiful car but its doing my head in also its an ex police car so has 191 thousand miles but you cant get its service history because of this but I would assume that they take care of them and service them regularly I just don't know what to do next. .thanks mark
