Dome light button switch repair

Featured Replies

Hi All.

I have recently bought a W8 light from a Superb and unfortunately it came with a broken reading light button switch. This means I cannot turn the drivers side reading light off (temporarily removed the bulb).

Last night, I tried taking it apart but I really can't see what's wrong with it. The button just won't stay pressed in... I am a little hesitant in removing the other button's switch just to see how it looks... it takes some force to snap it off and I wouldn't want to break it....

Has anyone ever done such a repair?

The switch itself seems to be operated by a spring underneath and a metal pin which seems to be loose and I have no clue how it should be placed.

Don't want to take an old switch and solder it on as it takes an awful lot of breaking plastic and soldering stuff to achieve this due to the way the W8 light is built.
