Carplay issues

Featured Replies

Hi, I've seen a number of posts about Carplay issues but none appear to match my problem.  Carplay intermittently(but fairly regularly) decides it wont connect.  The phone shows it's charging then disconnects & reconnects so the connection activity goes into a loop.  I've tried a different cable with no effect, however I tried an other iphone (5c) with an older version of IOS which doesn't cause the issue.

I am using an iPhone 5c with IOS11.0.2

So far calling Skoda hasn't provided any help :(

Mine rarely connects automatically i.e. plug phone in and start the car so I have to manually connect by pressing APP (Amundsen) and then clicking the Apple/iPhone symbol but this does not work all the time either. A soft reset of the infotainment system helps sometimes (press and hold the power button for about 10 secs), restarting the phone works sometimes. It was such a PITA that I turned on bluetooth and strangely it appears to successfully connect to CarPlay more frequently.

On two out of three long journeys so far it has disconnected itself without me noticing it has done so

, I'll be leaving bluetooth on to cover this from now on.

Other issues can be fluff in the charging port, cable issues (can affect each phone slightly differently), another member said on here that the car needs to be stationary for the auto connect at least. Let us know if you find a definitive solution.
