Battery/seat removal

Featured Replies

Hello,

I've tried to get under the front seats to check the air-bag wiring and clean area without success. ( Warning light still on.)  And can't identify any wiring even with a scope cam. Plan B.  Seeing there's only 4 bolts I'm going to pull the seats up to check.

Do I have to take the negative terminal off the battery ?  Does the plastic surround at the base of the seats - as well as passenger under seat storage compartment - come off ?

Thank for your help.

You should disconnect the negative on the battery before you start

Thank you.

Thanks for your help.  Looks simple enough though don't want to mess anything up.  I'll be checking the door wires as well end of week after seeing other's have found airbag warning light problems from them.

Cheers.

i had exactly the same, and sure enough it was the wiring running through the door. Yellow wire chaffed through.

You should disconnect the battery, but I've accidentally forgotten a few times whilst trying to sort a water ingress issue so don't panic if you don't. Just my experience though, not gospel. :)

Thanks for the help.. The light is still on. I'll have to take the seats out again. This time I'm going to take the plugs off and spray air into them. I can't see any problem at the doors..
