Fog light bulbs

Featured Replies

Hello, I'm just wondering about the fitting connection at the end of an Octavia fog light bulbs as I'm upgrading all frontal lights on the car. I'm not sure what the connector looks like and I've have a set of bulbs saved and I'm just wondering whether they would fit or suit the car or would I need to wire them up (if it can be done) They are H8s and I've been told that the Octavia has a different fitting don't know whether true or not so I thought I would consult here first.

thanks

It depends exactly what your car is.

I believe that:

- pre-fl vRS use H1

- fl vRS (and scout?) use HB4

- others use H8

Well mine is pre facelift vrs but I was looking on powerbulbs and it suggests h8 so where's the best place to get h1s?

Anywhere you want really, it's just a bulb ;)

If you want to stick with Powerbulbs they have a decent enough selection of H1: https://www.powerbulbs.com/store/category/car-bulbs/fitting/h1-448

It's probably worth five minutes to check your current bulbs are H1 and have blown... For example, when SWMBO's KA had a fog out, turned out the bulb was fine but the connector had fallen out :dull:

Yea it just that I'm looking for something similar to the factory xenons that are running around 4300k around that colour just to match I'll take a look at the type on the car

Looking at powerbulbs your options for bluer bulbs are:

- Philips Diamond Vision H1 @ ~5000k (not road legal)

- Philips Crystal Vision H1 @ ~4300k (not road legal)

- OSRAM Cool Blue Intense H1 @ ~4200k

- Philips White Vision H1 @ ~ 3700k

Just remember that blue tinted halogens produce less useful light than non-tinted bulbs.

I'd probably suggest OSRAM as they are the cheapest but I doubt they'll be a true match for your xenons despite the colour temperature claims...

Yea thanks for your help, Yea unless I install aftermarket I wont achieve xenon statistics but in this country the aftermarket aren't legal anyways so Ill probably go for the osrams.
