Bye Bye Octavia II FL vRS 2.0 Tsi - Hello Octavia III FL vRS 230

Featured Replies

My Mark II was traded yesterday against an Ex-Demonstrator Mark III FL vRS 230 DSG with DCC.

It has been a great car and only let me down once with a coil pack that Skoda Assist replaced under the extended warranty.

Does the FL MIII Vrs have the fancy diff on the front.

I really like the colour of yours, a very nice shade of grey.

How long did you have the Mk2 for?  From the photo it looks like you maintained it well and didn't modify it too much (if at all?).

Your Mk3 looks very nice and I'm keeping my eye on the prices of these.  I'd have an estate due to our family needs but the 230 is definitely on my future car radar.

Sadly not AFAIK you need a 245 vRS do get the Hardware Diff, it was this one or order a new 245 and wait - but the 245 is only available in a very ,limited colour range.

I had it for 5 1/2 years, it was garaged Every night. It was modified a bit, BlueFin, Eibach Proline springs mated to Bilstein B12 shocks, Whiteline RARB, Miltek Cat back and a custom ICE install. I also fitted Columbus Sat Nav with the Ipod interface and the Bluetooth factory module.

I Px'd it with 42,800 miles on the clock again the Mark III - it will make a nice car for someone, full service history and I had it done every year - I don't believe in the variable service scheme.

So it was modified - very similar to mine in some ways but yours was more subtle.  I guess the standard wheels and grille hid the mods well and allowed it to go under the radar.

Do you have any plans for the new car?

OEM upgrades only at this stage, plus a few VCDS tweaks like HBA and Traffic Sign recognition. I may have a remap - haven't decided yet 230 PS as standard so it goes well - but not as well as it could :-)

Both look to be nice cars.

I've seen a few of these MK3s with the separation in the headlight unit. Does it apply to certain models or is it part of the facelift?

Thanks

Adam
