excited...

Featured Replies

Just ordered the first car I've bought since 2004, and the first ever new one...... ordered for the new reg next year.

Sportline 280 combi with a few extra toys. Comming from a 2003 2.0t petrol Vectra estate that should be plenty exciting enough for me to drive... nothing like an extra 100bhp!

Now the waiting begins...

Congrats, that sounds like an awesome car, what colour did you go for?

I just ordered a 280 L&K estate back in September and also looking forward to having a nice powerful engine. After 12 years of running diesels glad to have a petrol again.

Laser white. I have an irrational dislike of metalic finishes! It looks well with the black of the sportline trim. I've seen a moon and a laser white next to each other and prefer the 'bright' white laser.

Its going to be a factory build due to weird extras wanted so I've arranged collection in early March so its in the new plate. Vanity I know,  but this is my first ever brand new car!

We've added towbar,  front sensors, camera, heated seats,  heated screen and nozzles, spare,  variable floor, partition net,  rear seat release and traffic sign (for potential activation of other camera related extras).

I tend to keep cars forever - current vectra is 2003 which I have owned since 2004 - so its a bit od a 'dream spec'  thing....

Unusually,  I have never owned a diesel,  the Vectra is a 2.0t petrol unit made by Saab back when they were GM owned. My dad had a few diesels including a V70 Volvo and I could never get by the agricultural feel compared to my Vec. The Superb is the same size engine as the vec but they seem to have found 95 extra horses i  in which should be fun...

Nonsense. This is a lot of money – get the car you want!

I bought my Sportline off the showroom floor, so I didn't have a choice of engines. (I hate waiting...) I would have gone for the 280ps given a choice, but I have to say the 220ps is plenty. I'll be curious to hear how often you have the pedal to the metal! Enjoy!

I suspect given I drive like a slug most of the time I'll rarely have my foot to the floor, but I do a lot of motoring heavily laden with scuba gear or with pushbikes on the roof, and I sometimes tow big trailers like the Scouts climbing wall, a tipper trailer or my parents caravan, so I figured better have power and not need it than need it and not have it.... Likely I'll have this one for 10 years so may as well have something I like!

Its a while, but they say good things come to those who wait :)

Apparently my car is now in the UK and I can have it next week if I want! Unusually for me I have decided to be sensible and collect it for the new reg in 2 months time and let the dealer store it for me. He's promised me a video, but I don't really want to see it in case i am tempted :)

Just need to order all the bits I want for it now, like boot liner, lip guard, mats, roofrack, mudguards etc.

I am just a tiny bit excited!
