Hi Jav_110

a sad end to this saga.

As many have found, it seems to be a deliberate policy of Skoda (and enforced upon their dealers?) To deny any suggestion that the product has inbuilt problems. Whilst this is an understandable stance by the dealers - (product loyalty etc) it does nothing to gain the respect and confidence of the customer.

Sorry your VRS days have been a bitter experience - but wish you well with your new acquisition.

Just putting up this 'Skoda Warranty' link up again for a member that has had to pay for a DSG with MCU failure and Skoda not interested in the slightest.

As to this Warranty, surely they can not keep getting away with selling it and then saying a car they take the policy money for had a known issue

when it was taken out.

Mis-selling surely, taking money under false pretences maybe...  A court would have to decide on that, if the Company was to go to court to defend their actions.

Well this is pretty depressing reading as  Fabia VRS owner of 60k miles.

Companies will indeed try to wriggle out of things but the worst thing is that the financial ombudsman etc is seemingly unable or not wanting to get to the bottom of this issue.  Deep seated corruption at the top of the chain (as usual).......?

Sorry to say I'm aware of a further 3 of these in dire straights, one owner seeking to break and the other unsure, plus one other that's going through oil consumption tests at the dealer spoken of above, using a litre every 700 miles. 2 of the 3 are CTHE engines, one 13 and other 14 plate. One that is for breaking is CAVE, misfiring and loss of compression cylinders 2 and 3.

Not sure if owners are on here, if so they can maybe update themselves.

Really puts a dent into the confidence of long term ownership of these cracking little cars, even after we've had engine replaced and spent a fortune on DSG we cannot say for sure how long we will keep ours as you always seem to have that wee niggling doubt as to how long it will last. And that's a shame.
