Latest mini-mod on my Octavia L&K.   I exchanged the standard filament indicator bulbs for canbus compatible led units.

 

Skoda have retained the very short length of cable between the loom and the back of the light cluster which makes access to the modular connector quite difficult - especially for those like me that have fat hands.

 

However, they have changed the connector to a new style version that requires two actions to remove it.  I had to use a short screwdriver with a 4mm blade to prise the red lock backwards before pressing down of the black spring-latch.  A swine of a job when you need your spare hand to move and support the whole cluster.

The rest of the job was easy enough after that.

The bulb holder removed. The standard bulb is a PY21W with rotational offset pins.

 

I'll replace the reversing bulbs when the new led bulbs turn up.

 

In my opinion, the led indicators give a crisper look.  My last car had led reversing lights too - I suppose I just miss the brighter white.

nice slightly faster and brighter. im still trying to decipher that last pictures, this is a mod i want to do myself.
