Lost 1st/2nd/rev gears with floppy gearlever- Fix

Featured Replies

Hi All, I had trouble last week when I suddenly could only get 3rd gear when setting off (with riding the clutch), there was no 1st 2nd or rev gears available !  upon investigation after removing the air filter and tubing to be able to get to the top of the gearbox, I found the top linkage from the gear lever had popped off the plastic actuator arm that selects certain gear settings, at first I thought a clip had fallen off but its only held on by a small molded piece of plastic that must wear away, a new arm was £25 ! so I used a 1 inch 12s screw that I  ground down with a plastic washer, There is a white plastic clip on the bracket/lever but that goes on the bottom pivot and after buying one I found it wasn't required, here are some pictures of my cheap repair (cheers Stuart)
