Pre-fl tiptronic (09g) jerky

Featured Replies

I have a 2007 1.6mpi 6 speed auto that is very jerky especially from 1st to 2nd.

Will changing atf fix it or do i need a new valve body/gearbox ?

I know it's been a while since this post, but did you ever get this fixed. I have the 2.0 fsi version with the 09G gearbox with the same issue from 1st to 2nd. A gearbox oil change didn't make any difference in my case. Mileage is c. 50k. I've read that it could be gummed-up shift solenoids but I haven't investigated further yet.

Are you able to get somebody to do an autoscan with VCDS?

It's a not unheard of a failing speed/ABS sensor to cause DSG shift issues although that's normally 3rd to 4th but it'd worth doing anyway.

Thanks. Would this possibly also be the case for non-dsg 09g gearbox.? I do plan on getting some diagnistics done to determine the cause. Just wondering if someone else has already been there and bought the T shirt for a head start towards a solution.

@kfayz in your recent post in the MK3 section on the subject of replacing a DSG in a 1.4 TSI, why would you want to then fit one of these automatic boxes?
