Has anyone fitted H7 LED

Featured Replies

@TudorDdid you establish if the lights were brighter in the end?

Not an answer to the question, but I recently tried some HIDs and LED bulbs, yes they are brighter, but the problem I had was, with reflector headlights I had a criss cross pattern of light infront of me on the road, my eyes kept going to this pattern and I just couldn't get over it. Both returned for refund.

@417original to tell the truth: in the first nights it seemed like more light on the road. But as of right now I am again missing original xenon lights (i bought the car from a fleet sale and did not have the option of xenon as i would have chosen that for sure). Right now I am waiting for some nice weather to change those bulbs with a pair of osram led H7 (which by the way are legal in germany/austria/czech and are approved for skoda o3 on public roads). I\ve been driving a duster gen 2 with these osram leds and the difference is night and day (nt quite that big but these leds did make a big improvement). Did not have the issue of the above comment but then again it might depend on the driver.

Hey @TudorDthanks for the info. It’s interesting that those led bulbs are legal in those countries. And that’s in a reflector housing correct??

yes.if you check the osram website for those leds to be retrofitted into halogen housings lights they provide you with a certification document which states they're legal for use on public roads < unfortunately only available in those countries.

they also have a matching led vs car manufacturer/version combo available. On that duster the leds fitted with no other mods, just plug'n'play. I am now thinking that dacia as i recall had better halogen lights even on logan  2005 versions vs what vw group offered at that time, maybe skoda halogen housings are little weird in comparison to duster's and this could be the cause of criss cross lightning on the road. I need to check and see or check other reports but make sure that we are speaking of osram leds h7 and not other brand (chinese) as the position of led diodes are very important in a reflector ... they need to be is in the same spot as the filament of halogen bulb to replicate and fulfill the purpose.

Cheers - I was also going to change the high/low bulbs to led given that it wouldn’t matter so much for being legal in the uk (correct me if I’m wrong). I’m guessing this would mean a constant led light for drl and sidelight and then main beam would be bright led and turn off when seeing oncoming traffic anyway

Any LED in a housing not designed specifically for LED is illegal in the UK (and would therefore invalidate your insurance) and for headlight, also now an MOT fail.

And not to mention the reason they are illegal is that they do not have the proper cut off and blind everyone coming towards you. If you have reflector housing then dont be that d!ck that want brighter headlights! Same goes for hids in a reflector headlight.

what about fogs??

If they were supplied from the factory with halogens, then, again, it would be illegal to fit LED bulbs in them. Whether or not that would also be an MOT fail, I don't know, but LED sidelights are, so I would imagine fogs would be. But either way, illegal.

Hello, I see that the topic is old, but very interesting, I have a problem with LED bulbs h7 on reflector headlights that I purchased from an online store, when I press the accelerator pedal, the light increases and when I release it, the light decreases, I have no indications of a burnt out bulb, does anyone know how to code low and high beams on LED? The car is an Octavia 2018 FL, I would like to ask for a complete simplified procedure with vcds.

If you look at the modifications section at the top of the forum, look at the LED replacement lighting modifications; you should have the answers you need in there.

Ако погледнете секцията за модификации в горната част на форума, вижте модификациите за подмяна на LED осветление; там би трябвало да имате отговорите, от които се нуждаете.

I use a translator and I'm having a hard time finding anything, I would be happy if you could provide a link to the topic.
