Software Update

Featured Replies

Bought my Vrs about 6 weeks ago and checked the government website for recalls and I have one. Phone my local dealer and it's a software update on my 2009 Vrs Diesel.

Now as Iam in the trade and spoke to a few customers and one said don't do it as egr will fail after the update and another said do it as I have the early egr valve fitted and they never fail. (haha) so what the opinion of fellow drivers?

Don't do it, as the earlier egr's can and do fail. The "fix" is another VW waste of time.

It depends, I think there might be more than one software update for your car.

I think there is an ABS update that you probably do want.

There is also the emissions fix which you probably don't want.

It should be possible for the dealer just to do the former.

Just checked and there is no recall on my car. I should probably cancel my appointment next week at Skoda

^^^ Do not trust that VIN Checker, like other Skoda sites it is sh!te,

Ask them in writing what there is outstanding, and if Emissions Fix tell them to bog off.  IMO.

Received plenty of letters asking me to book in for the emissions software update and it has gone straight to the recycling bin. :D
