Halfords coolant?

Featured Replies

Got surprised by a low coolant warning, as I went to leave work last night.

Being far from home and unable to remember what coolant I usually use, Halfrauds was my only option.

According to their guide, the one I needed was their Comma G30 Antifreeze and Coolant... and a ready-mixed, at that, hitting me for £22.

I understand I'm supposed to use a G12, but Halfords had nothing of the sort - Have I done wrong with this G30?

The comma website does mention G30 as being suitable  for the mk 1 Octavia as it is OAT ready. I tend to keep an eye out for the X% off emails at GSF and order a couple of 1.5 litre bottles off them - usually work out at about £5-6 per bottle delivered :)

I used Comma Red G30 long life in a Nissan that needs Nissan L248 / 250 & in a Volvo,  (topped one up the other day.)

I have never put it in a Skoda though.

Cheers guys,

Got the OK from my mechanic, while we were sorting the O-ring on the plastic union. Looks like that was leaking.
