I have just fitted a genuine Skoda nav to the Bolero head unit in my VRS, all installed and updated OK. however on my test drive I have noticed that the park pilot does not come when I go into reverse. It sometimes briefly flashes up if I click to say Radio or Phone but then the screen goes blank again.

 

I have read the instructions and it says park Pilot only work when you are on a normal function like radio, but no matter what "normal" OE screen I am on I have to press the media button again to get the park pilot up. 

 

Does anyone else have this issue? if so what is the fix?

All fixed. Turns out as supplied the second dip switch for after market reversing camera was turned on, unplugged the unit, flip the second switch to off and works fine now, even when showing the nav as soon as you go into reverse the park pilot pops up. 

 

The unit didn’t actually come with the official Skoda instructions but I did find the VW ones.

 

for others the dip switches are:

1) off - low res screen (correct for Bloero)

2) on - after market reverse camera so should be set to off.

3) guidance drivers door

4) guidance passenger door

3+4 both front speakers.

 

if changing the settings you need to fully unplug the box. Change the switch then plug both looms back in, job done.
