Hi. 

 

All if a a sudden I’m having issues with my stereo in my 2007 Skoda Octavia 1.4 Petrol. This morning it would not turn on. However a couple of mins later it came on for 10 seconds before turning off again. It’s just keeps going on and off. The lights on the buttons keep going on and off too as off power coming through to unit is intermittent. Anyone else have this issue and know the cause?

Cant find model number but it’s original stereo that came with car in 2007. I have posted pic. Thanks. 

I would suspect your unit is at fault mate.

Not sure if worth having it inspected in a local electronic workshop otherwise just see for a replacement.

With less money you can get a quite good aftermarket solution (not to mention for a touchscreen model)

Hey. Thanks for reply. I traced the fault to a small leak and electrics got damp. Thankfully no damage done. Really appreciate your post. Still might be a good idea to upgrade to an aftermarket option.
